Where do these go???

I deracked my Keihin carbs on my 1981 kz750 and forgot where these go. They are sort of like a fiber gasket of some sort. I looked at the exploded views on the manual still can't find them anywhere. I'm thinking they go some where on the buttlerfly shaft.  There are only 2 of them, any help is appreciated.

Those are felt seals, that go behind the throttle shaft brackets.  I'd have to dig further, to provide more specific info regarding where they are located.   If you can't figure it out, I can pull out some of my spares and be more specific.

And, for what it's worth, I have O-ring kits for those carbs.

Ed,

Do you know if I am missing any or is 2 the correct amount? I feel like there are 4 places they could go. I would appreciate any help you could send my way.

I bought my oring kit from you a few weeks ago. :)

Oh, good on the O-rings.  Sorry, I didn't remember.  Are you Brian?
One felt per carbs.  I seem to remember the carb body has a recess for the felt, and it's only on one side.

Ed,
Thanks for your help and you are correct this is Brian from Colorado.

Numbers 3,4 seem to have a black plastic bushing that tapers into the linkage barrel. 1,2,5,6 appear to have a plastic washer followed by a metal washer to seal up the linkage barrel.

You say one set per carb, so maybe I am missing 2? That would makes sense if 1,2,5,6 all received them. Just having the 2 is throwing me for a loop.

Thanks again for the help!

I'll dig out the spares in the garage and report back.  The felt seal may only be used in the center two carbs.  Sorry, hard to remember.  If the throttle shafts are removed, you should be able to look at the carb bodies for a recess around the throttle shaft bore, for the felt.

Ed,

Thanks again for your help. There is space on every carb for the seal on the throttle shaft barrel for these felt seals. I only had two and I took one to the hardware store, to find something similar, and it disintegrated in my pocket. I ended up just using a rubber oring. The oring fit well and I'm guessing since I only had two and the bike ran fine that's it's not the end of the world. I think the oring is better than nothing, but still not all that necessary. Anyway, Thanks again for the help
