BS34 choke plunger o-ring?
14 Dec 2023 04:28 - 14 Dec 2023 05:09
Hi!
I rebuilt my Mikuni BS34 a couple of years ago but did not touch the choke plungers at the time. Does anyone know if there are o-rings that can be replaced in them? I have not been able to find the answer, in some discussion it's implied that this can be done but I can't see any o-rings on pictures nor part lists?
Also, is there any cheaper alternatives to NOS dust boots (15-20 USD/EUR a piece) for the choke plungers?
thanks!

The Kawasaki version BS34 doesn't use O-rings on the choke cap. There are seals in the ends of the plungers themselves, which can be changed, if you want to work hard enough. Or, send them to member Zed here, he provides the service of changing the plunger seals for you.
Regarding the accordion seals, I've yet to find a reasonably priced option.

I see, unfortunate there is no seals in the caps. That would have been easy. Thanks for the information, I will check out the eBay ad.
