KZ Tank Vent

I have a 1978 KZ650 thats was involved in a minor fenderbender last week. The bike went over on its side but engine guards protected everything. Not a dent on the bike.

But it wont run up a hill or incline. The bike slowly dies which tells me its not electrical, butĀ  a fuel starvation problem.

I took apart the petcock and its clean. However the fuel flow isnt great, even though its a new aftermarket one that has no vacuum. I would post a pic but for some reason the site wont let me. In the meantime I have ordered a pingel petcock which i hear is a very good brand.

I know that tanks need to be vented. So I took the screws out of the cap and made sure the vent area is clean. In making sure the tank is venting, have I overlooked anything? Is there anything else on the tank that i need to check for venting?

Thanks
