Backstory:1977 Kawa KZ750 Twin B1I keep my petcock on reserveBike was surging and acting funnyOnly ran when, while running, I would turn the petcock to OFF and then RESERVE, otherwise it would dieTook the tank off and then the petcockBefore taking off the petcock, I checked to see if fuel flowed. It did flow out of both petcock ports, but on RESERVE, it only flowed out of one. Cleaned it and the tankA friend and I rebulit the carbs, dipped them, checked every single part of them and replaced what needed replacingNow they look brand spanking new. Will reinstall them and update the forum. Btw Carb boots are all good.

Thanks for your comments, as always. Plunger is fixed too. You were right, the housing was damaged.

Did you sandblast the carbs and brackets?  If so, the brackets are going to rust if you don't paint them with something.

Your fuel filter flow direction on the right carb is wrong!

I think Scirocco is right. If you have turned them both the same as the one on the right in your picture then that will definately cause the issue you have in your other thread.
They should have flow direction arrows on them. Flow direction arrow should point from the tank to the carbs.

No, hes wrong. The filters have an arrow on them which  shows how the fuel is to meant to flow. From the petcock to the carbs both filters should be like this:

fuel tank to  fuel line to filter ( | --->)   fuel line to carbs.
in my photo the first one is right.
the second photo is the one that shows it in wrong.
Instead it is fuel tank  to  fuel line to wrong facing filter ( <---| ) to   fuel line to carbs. Ive corrected it.

Are you 100% sure? Every tapered inline filter I have ever seen has the wide end as the outlet and narrow as the inlet and if they are in backwards it would cause the issues you are experiencing.
Second pic is k&n and looks identical to yours. Both have flow direction arrows on them of thin to thick.

Just going back through your posts you posted a picture of a gravity tap but I thought the 750b1 has cv carbs with an outlet for a vac tap line. So begs the question of why are you using two inline filters and two fuel lines?

The 750B1 uses cv carbs and a manual fuel tap (petcock). The petcock has two fuel outlets, one that points toward the center of the bike, and one that points to the rear. Each carb has its own fuel line, and there is no vacuum line to the petcock.

I think the first 750 twin to have a vacuum operated petcock and a single fuel line was the 1982 750M1 CSR.
