Trouble finding part
23 Jul 2022 12:44 - 23 Jul 2022 12:55
Hello,
I recently purchased a mostly running 79 kz400 last month. Been going through everything but I need help finding a part. The previous owner mangled both of these pieces so I'm not sure really what it looks like originally. I'm guessing it's just the fuel limiter leading to a jet. I don't know the name of it and each rebuild kit I find doesn't seem to include this one. I've replaced everything but that and the floats. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks all!
The carburetor is labeled as keihin v55a.

If you know the carb model and the jet size it is you can order it from "Jets R Us". Do you have a Service manual for your bike? It would tell you everything you need to know. An illustrated parts breakdown of most parts retailers can help too.
I don't have a plan and I'm sticken' to it! '77 KZ 650 / 750 GPz custom project in progress

Looks like you have what you need, but for future reference you can try
partzilla
(I'm assuming you have a '79 KZ400H1) which has part diagrams for different systems and has the part numbers for all components. Even if they don't have the right part in stock, knowing the original part number makes sourcing a replacement easy.

Oh really? I'll have to check that out. From the information I can gather I have a '79 KZ400B. I'll be happy to get this bike up and running again.
thanks so much for the info!
