OK, thanks. I knew the outside shafts on the CV43's are sealed with the washers on the shafts, but I thought the felt washers helped to seal under the rubber bushings on the inside of 2 & 3 (there are only two felt washers on the 34's). I'll be taking the carbs out later today and am quite interested to see what the deal is - it's so long since we put them together I have no idea how they seal. Will post some pics.

Finally got the carbs pulled and seperated. They have a single nylon wassher on the outside carbs, the outside of 2 & 3 have a nylon washer with a shoulder for the carb body, and the inside has a single felt washer. They have never been pulled apart so this mus be the stock setup. I'm thinking felt washers all around , polishing the ends ot the throttle shafts so they seal better and some washers to replace they nylon ones - what shoul I use here? Stick with nylon, or brass, or ...?

Personally I would stick with nylon (the manufacturer chose that material for a reason)
