1978 Deluxe, kz400.  Can someone properly teach me up on the petcock?  I bought bike and no petcock.  Is this suppose to be a vacuum or non vacuum type?  I bought what was suppose to be a replacement on Amazon and it has two outlets but both are fuel outlets?  Why?  I don't think this is correct but maybe someone can advise.  Thanks.

PS:  The Deluxe model in 78' uses the bowl in the bottom type petcock.

The KZ400 A2 Deluxe uses a manual (non vacuum),  single outlet fuel valve.

If you can measure the center to center distance between the mounting screws and the length and width of the opening in the fuel tank, you may be able to find a suitable replacement from another make and model. If you are feeling a little sporty, you may be able to score a sexy aftermarket valve that will fit —

Yes, I have seen that picture too at cmsnl , and it looks like a single, but if you look further you get this picture of the back.

This other picture calls the first pic into question.

interesting. If your carbs have a fuel T between them (#27 in the diagram at the link), then you can have only one fuel line from the petcock.

Looks like the earlier style carbs on the KZ400A1 used dual fuel lines from the petcock.

I dug through my parts I got with this bike and found the petcock, in pieces, and it is indeed a single outlet.  The rubber inside washer was gone and so is the petcock to tank gasket.  The inside washer apparently they don't make anymore.  I guess I'll buy a new cheapo off Ebay and see if it does the job

EDIT:  All the ones on Ebay are actually two outlet so might as well try the one I got from Amazon, just cap off one spigot
