Supporting carbs after replacing air box with pods was created by Missile2511
I saw where someone with pod air filters on his kz650 used zip ties to support the front of his carbs to substitute for the support that the air box offered. He ran ties from the frame down to and around the air screw flanges on the carb body. It seems to make sense, is anyone else doing that?

Carb bounce will split after market carb to head boots. Cable ties are made of nylon and will stretch so eventually will not achieve the desired effect, also its an untidy heath robinson bodge.
It's simple to make a couple of straps which will hold the carbs rock solid and look tidy at the same time.

Thanks Warren, that is a much better idea. Did you use 2 straps on the outboard carbs?

No, on carbs 2 & 3. The cam cover bolt on those two carbs is directly behind the mix cover screw on those two.

For what it's worth, I had pods on my KZ900 for 8 years and never had any issues with them being unsupported.

This has worked well for the past 10 years. Although I have to agree with Bama, never really had an issue before installing this. I did so after taking a real hard jolt on a pot hole one day. Put this on so as a precaution.
