From the info posted in this thread it would appear to be a 77 B or a 78 A as they both appear to have the same internals, but as I have said before what do I know.

There were three models that used the 5DL31 needle. One was 1976, but it had fuel/air screws so it's not 76. That leaves 77B and 78A as possible choices. 77 used an O6 needle jet and 78 used an O5. If you pop a needle jet out you will know for sure which year.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.
