1984 KZ550 LTD (F2) Carb Holders, having trouble finding them
09 Oct 2021 07:09
Hi all, looking for advice on where to get a new set of carb holders for an '84 KZ550. It developed a pretty nasty vacuum leak that a buddy and I narrowed down to one of the carb holders. For all I know it's been years since they were replaced so I figured I'd get a whole new set.
So far I've had really bad luck finding anywhere that has them available. I've tried partzilla, but after making the order I was notified that they were on back order with no ETA from the manufacturer. I then tried a site called freedomcycle (maybe not super well known, but they have a location local to me and are pretty well regarded), but again, within a couple days they called me up telling me they were on back order with no ETA.
So, I have two options, the way I see it. 1, go to a local Kawasaki dealer and hope they have a better hook up that can get these old parts, or 2, get the measurements for the OEM holders, then find a generic equivilant. Not sure which option is better, if anyone has found legit OEM holders recently, I'd love to hear where. Or, if anyone's used generic replacements, I'd love to know what brand you went with, and what measurements to look for (or just how I can measure the holders myself, not super familiar with carburated engines so I'm not too sure which measurements mean what).
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out here!

These folks seem to have them, but shipping may be really high.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI bought them on Ebay.
Although the price is really low, the quality is more than adequate, in my opinion.
