Fuel tap / petcock replacement for 78 kz1000
19 Sep 2021 06:58
I've had it with my stock vacuum petcock and I'm looking for a good manual style replacement.
I'm running a kz900 carb that does not have a vacuum nipple so I have been using one off a intake manifold and I think it creates too much of a vacuum and it messes with the increasingly hard to find petcock diaphragms and O-rings
I would like to go with a Pingle set up but I would have to carve on the oval hole that the round screen tube would go up into, not a deal breaker but it would forever change the tank and probably make it hard to go back to a stock setup, but that would be someone else's problem.
Can anybody recommend an easy bolt up ( manual ) fuel tap that has 2 supply lines?

Thank you.

This is what’s on my 1980 KZ750G. I don’t know if it’s stock or not. Fuel delivery is fine, but I do need a rebuild kit for it due to it leaking at the valve when I turn it off/on.
