I built a chopper out of a 81 kz550 Ltd with tk22 carbs.

it has a narrowed sportster tank with a gravity fed petcock, and the carbs are constantly overflowing when the petcock is in the on position.

i don’t know if there is any way to remedy this, I’ve tried adjusting the floats, and made sure the float needles are functioning properly. And all attempts have been fruitless.

I did the same sort of setup on an 82 kz750 Ltd with CV carbs and the same thing is happening.

any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Make sure your overflow pipes are not cracked.

The clearance between the floats and the edge of the bowl is very tight.  It's easy to spread the floats out by accident while bending the tang.  You need to ensure the floats are not catching on the bowl.  I had that issue on my wife's 550.

A member has a website here with a lot of info on TK22 carbs.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.
