Recently bought a gorgeous 76 KZ900. All stock original. Added a Delkevic 4 into 1, air filter pods and upped mains to 125. Runs like poop. Has classic pilot jet symptoms, only likes to run a bit choked, throttles down slow ie no snap back to idle. I didn't change out pilots. Any suggestions on a good jet sizing combo both mains and pilots?
Thanks
Eric

Welcome and congrats on the purchase of a great bike.
Eric, the symptoms you are describing are classic lean conditions. When you remove the airbox and added pods you increase the air volume available for the engine. My suggestion is to contact Zed1015 and purchase his air corrector jets, they install very easily and then return the carburetors back to stock jetting. I think the stock jetting is 17.5 pilots and somewhere around 115 Main. I would also suggest having Zed1015 rebuild your choke enrichment plungers. A good thorough dismantle and cleaning of the carburetors is also suggested. I would invest in a factory service manual and go through all of the suggested maintenance adjustments, so you have a good baseline to start from.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Very nice original my first bike I stand 5' 3" in 1979 .
Always warm up the motor take some brake cleaner or carburetor cleaner and lightly spray around edges of intakes and chokes to see if idle goes up easy preventive knowledge.
Be well ride safe and remember run what you brung
