Running rich

undefined 81 kz440
No mods on engine
2:1 intake and single new 34mm pwk (uses keihin pilot jets)
Forum suggested #35 pilot, but its way too rich
Sized down to #30, but still too rich
Acts as if its trying to pull fuel from main jet?
(Makes a straw sucking sound)
Its is the smallest pilot I'm able to locate. Don't really know where to go from here.
Float height has been set.

You might be getting fuel from the choke circuit. Check to ensure everything is in good condition.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I like the custom intake but I fear your going to have a PITA tuning it. The pod filter will not stop the ram air affect. The fuel mixture is going to be ever more lean the faster you go,

The carburetor is new. It does idle well with the enrichment plunger pulled, but starts running rich after pressed. Is there something specific with the plunger that could of with wrong?

I was thinking that too. Thought of fabricating a sort of cap over it that would allow it to draw from the back side of it.

I bet that would create a low pressure area inside the cap that would get more extreme with increased speed. I am not sure that would be a better problem.

Probably not, but I have a little bit before I get there. Is there any relation to what size of carburetor I should be running vs stock size? The stock carbs were 35.89mm ID is a 34 too small?
