Like kev shows that's the "general" range supplied by the manual. But what you are trying to do is preload the diaphragm but not coilbind the spring in the fatter section of actuator rod. And there are two types of rods, not sure what year and KZ1000 type. It's the locating pin "or type of control cable pulley" on the cable pulley that determine the rod. As far as the leak..bowls don't warp, it's the casting. The bowl retaining screws, that over time, bow the casting at the weakest link. So you may see a flood of fuel when you use the pump but fill the bowls and tilt the bank back so fuel is covering the gasket.....wait about 30min....rub your finger around top of bowl, it will be wet with fuel.

The cable pulleys are different numbers, the kz650 uses the rod ending in 107, whereas the kz1000 can use both rods, but i should imagine these carbs are pretty much stock and will be fine with the measurements i gave which are out of the factory workshop manual.

Carbs are done. The fat O-rings along with tightening the screws on the pump nozzle side of the float bowl before tightening up the other side sealed up that area nicely.

They look nice! What bike did they come from? Mine have two fuel inlets (no crossover in the middle) with the adjuster on the top.

Sorry, but I don't know what bike these came from. They were purchased off ebay with the intension of fixing and flipping for beer money. The parts fishe suggests '79 or '80 1000 A3/A3A and I think A4

Nessism amd HardRockMiner Both set look really nice. I cant believe I didn't take a picture of my set after rebuild and before install. Mine are like HRM's and have 2 fuel feeds. My best guess is the set I have are from a 1980 Kz1000 LTD. I Guess I was just too excited to get them on the bike. I did polish the top covers after install.

Any of you guys know what's the deal with the second pump chamber? Looking through the fishe at Partzilla shows the '79-'81 C2/C3/C4 cop bikes use both pumps. How does that work?

Its a vacuum Sensor, beyond the C models you mentioned it was also used on the '79 LTD 1000 B3. its mentioned in the supplement FSM but it doesn't describe how it functions. I've seen a cutaway here in another post. its something like it blocks the fuel from getting to the nozzle and it redirects it back to the bowl until certain vacuum is achieved. Basically it delays the fuel squirt into the carb throat till a certain vacuum is achieved.

If you search Kawasaki 14025-1121 on partzilla it tells you which models' it is related to.

That photo of mine shows them as they came off the bike when I rebuilt it back in 2014/15. I'm not actually using them right now. I have a set of '76 carbs on my LTD. I'll probably switch them out this winter to rebuild the 26 set.

I put a set of these ones on mine, but deleted the vacuum function so they behave as the 28's do, the 26's were notorious for failing to do the job, mine now run perfectly.
