Hey guys, So I`m A new owner of a 1977 kz1000a. The bike runs ok, but it definitely has some carb. issues. I read the forum about how to jet, re jet carbs. It all sounds very confusing to me. I dont even own a ratchet set. All I want to do is ride. I am moving to port saint lucie fla. in two weeks. My question is this does anyone know a good kz mechanic in the fla area. Thanks Mitch

Assuming the bike has the air cleaner and has not been modified the carbs may simply be dirty. This would be very likely if the bike sat unused for 6 months or more. Assuming everything is stock I would NOT be thinking about replacing jets or any other metal carb parts. Doing so is opening a can of worms. Of course, if someone has made modifications to the bike all bets are off. Ed
