Mikuni Early Choke Plungers Needed.

Good Morning Fellas! Finishing-up a set of the Late 73 Z style carbs and found out all i had for Choke Plunger selection was a set of the Ribless Plungers. They are about 3mm shorter so the lifter prematurely holds the plunger in the Choke On position. Anyone have a set or trade for these earliest of the early style plungers? I don't need these , sold the last set of ribless before the "new normal" began. Hope everyone is Well and staying Busy!! Clay

I've seen some of Your posts regarding corrector jets and reseating of the plungers! Sounds like the stuff that goes on around here, never throw away anything because someday a new Idea or tech from an unrelated trade may come into play. I had a local rubber company stamp out plunger pads about 10+ yrs ago to do the same thing.

How do You get the old pad out? I "used" to soak them in the OLD Good Berrymans, rubber would swell-up and just fall out like jelly. Now Berryman changed the formula so paint remover does the same. No digging/scraping.

I use a a variety of methods depending on how hard the seats are.
Mostly i use a cutter i made that removes the center then pick out the remaining ring from under the lip .
I also produce the Viton seats myself as the quotes i had were eye watering unless i ordered batches of a thousand at a time .

Hey A', I could use those plungers. I need a set of those white plastic lifters. I know about the new world! Your lucky if you sold before for big $$. I procrastinated, I had a set of 1470's to finish last November. Had zinc plating done. Now They might be a few hundred dollars less on the re-sale market. Looks like nice work you do! Did you see the stainless linkage pieces that I made double thickness? I sold about 18 sets of them to the world. And for those small set screws for the early choke plungers I just used set screws and made thin jam nuts. Just chiming in I need these ones. I am just trying to find the small nylon pieces.

Try the Paint remover trick Zed, no scrapping or digging. Just sit them in a glob of paint remover overnight. I remember paying about 500.00USD for set-up and got i think 500? I used to have a box of them in a sealed bag but still cannot find them since the move?? Z1kzonly, I still need the plastic rings, Sorry!! I use the SS set/grub screws also except on the visible one. Yep, Dremel a slot in a SS screw, ha. I bought a bunch of the OEM SS linkage connectors years ago and don't need any at this time but Nice Work. Its all in the details. I still have a couple re-plated hardware/ bracket/choke rod (with nice Plastic) assemblies sitting around somewhere. And a couple 74 and 75 early 28's floating around here somewhere also?
