I just finished getting the remaining pins removed. I had to heat the head side post with a pencil tip flame from a brazing kit, put a wet rag over the float... one tap got them removed after the heating process.

I filed the pins down in my hand and de-burred the post holes, should have no issues in the future.

Yes, that could be done but the bowls for these carbs have a funky shape, they all have the well for the accelerator pump so even if the stock pin is not pushed in all the way (orientated correctly) it will hit the connection to the well keeping the bowl from centering on the screw holes. I found this out when putting the bowls back on, sort of surprised me.
