Emulsion tube mix up
29 Jun 2020 09:49
Hi, I am new here and hoping to get some help with my uk 1989 gpz550. I’ve recently bought this bike after smashing myself to pieces on one 25 years ago. It would only running on three with the enrichment on so I’ve pulled the carbs and sonic cleaned everything but made a schoolboy error by mixing up the emulsion tubes. I now realise there are two sets, one Set for the inner carbs and one for outers but which way round? Where do the tubes go with the extra holes outside or inside? Hoping someone knows. I have had a search on this topic but couldn’t find anything for the cvk30 carbs. Thanks in advance - jim.

I'm guessing an emulsion tube is a needle jet holder. Cmsnl.com has the diagrams for your motorcycle. The carburetor parts diagram is showing two needle jet holder part numbers (the main jets screw into them) & there's an inserted chart indicating where they go. Clicking the part numbers, there's a pic of one of the holders, so you might be able to figure out which is which.
