Hello I have a 1973 kawasaki z1900 with a 1976 kz900 motor on it I am having problems with power on the top end it seems like it's not opening up all the way this bike has a 4 into 2 exhaust and it does have pods on the carburetors. I had 127.5 mains and I'm not sure what the pilots are I went down to 122.5 mains on all four carbs the plugs were black and I think still are the bike runs good but it just isn't opening up when I'm on the highway I can't go full throttle so I have to leave off and tether it. Can some one please help me. I cleaned the carbs adjusted the air to fuel mixture screws and that's all I know.

Main jets are WAY too big .
Top end is bogging due to overfueling and backing off to improve running is a text book symptom.
They should be around two sizes up from stock and you should fit air corrector jets when running pods.
Read the attached thread to the end regarding the air jets and their use.
