Gas in the air box

I am not sure how this is happening, but it looks and smells like gas is flowing into the air filter box. I have attached a photo. I just finished replacing the valve cover gasket and finished putting everything back together. Thanks in advance. This is a 1988 KZ1000P

Generally that is a sign that the petcock has failed and one or more of the carburetor float valves are not sealing. It could also happen if the fuel valve is left on PRI and one or more of the float valves are leaking.

So I could check to see which one of the fuel values are not tight? Also, what is the recommended initial setting for the Idle Speed?

Thanks in advance.
