Help please. was created by Jpallison1722
Can anyone tell me if the tubes between carbs 1 and 2, and carbs 3 and 4 are supposed to be one tube? Or are they supposed to be running somewhere else.. There was nothing connected to them when I bought the bike and it had a vacuum leak. I suspected it was from those ports so I put a tube on them and there was no more vacuum leak, ran great. But now fuel is now leaking from all 4 carbs into the air box. Any suggestions? Attached is a blueprint of the carbs and a photo of the tube I put on.

Those are vent ports. They are to be kept open.

Why would it run better with that tube on? When there was nothing it would high idle like crazy. After that it reved perfectly.

Assuming you are referring to the red circled items, they are vent ports. There is no vacuum coming though these.

Make sure your pods are not blocking the ports at the inlet. Some of the cheapo generic pods do. Not sure that would cause the issue being discussed but maybe.

Not sure what oval port you are speaking of but also I'm not running pods. I'm running the stock air box.

My bad, your photo clearly shows the airbox. Not sure what I was thinking but nevermind.

That's okay, any ideas about the high idle. I don't know how many more times I have to clean those darn things things.
