Proper orientation of float

You have it correct. Make sure the float needle is in

Is there a certain measurement tha we can make to make our float height correct before we put our bowl on and use the clear tube method ?
This are vm26ss carbs on a 77 kz1000

On VM 28SC carbs I measure as follows: With the carb upside down and the float valve pressed closed I measure from the lip of the bowl to the top of the float. Should be about 16 mm.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Mechanical float height for those carbs is 26mm from bare gasket face to the bottom of the float.
This is measured with the carb inverted and the float resting on the needle valve.
