What does the fast idle link do?

I flipped my carb upside down and this piece fell off. I believe it is the fast idle link. The small spring is missing. What does the fast idle link do?

Also do you guys know anywhere to get replacement screws?

The fast idle system increases the idle speed when the choke is used.

In my signature, if you follow the links, there are several downloadable manuals covering your bike. Also there is a link to a website about your TK22 carbs. The website shows how you can modify the fast-idle control screw into a knob so you can adjust that without removing the carbs. This is handy when a drastic change in the weather occurs.

If you are new to the bike, you should probably read the valve train warning in my signature as well, before removing the valve cover.

The famous Loudhvx! I have probably read your carb website page 20 times now. I have a couple of manuals thanks so much. I have scoured the forums looking for your answers to previous posters, but I couldn't find and answer on this one.

Thanks for the reply, I had another question: pan screws for the carb. My user manual says Pan screw 5x14, but Z1 and bike bandit say 4x14. Z1 says that their replacement hex heads would also fit. Is this true? My concern is that the hex set replacement is only about 7 dollars, but shipping is 14. I would hate to order it, just for the screws to not fit. Do you have a go to piece when replacing hardware?

For the bowls (panS) you Need M4 x 14 (Metric), i would prefer the SS Allen head bolts.

I also use stainless M4 allens. Some of the holes need a cleanup with a tap sometimes, due to not being tapped all the way, so I just clean them all.

If you need photos of the fast-idle linkage let me know.
