Does anyone make reusable carburetor gaskets. I put vaseline on my smoothbore gaskets and they were good for 3 uses but ripped the last time.
I don't want to have to order new bowl gaskets every time I get some junk stuck in the carbs.
Had them apart 6 times in the last year, I am probably supporting whatever country they made them in.
I'm also thinking the k&n knockoff air filters are not filtering so great.
Just can't bring
myself to spend $150.00 on real ones.

Thanks , I have seen them. They don't offer them for 29 smoothbores for some reason.
I message the company to ask why.

Try APE filters. I hav had good luck with them. If you are getting that much junk in the carbs, i say you need a good fuel filter. The Golan Super Mini will filter much smaller particles than typical plastic filters, and it will likely last longer than the bike as the metal filter media is washable.

I really like the gaskets that come in Keyster kits. Very soft, with a "sponge like" feel.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Holy cow! I've owned my KZ650 for 43 years (62,000+ miles) and haven't had the carbs apart that many times. As TexasKZ recommended buy a Golan Super Mini fuel filter. I have one on my bike, and I don't need to worry about any junk getting into my carbs. Ed

They are the same gaskets for the VM29mm smooth bores.

I have a good fuel filter.
The sealer coating in my tank was breaking down so I'll see what happens with the new tank.
I have alpha motor air filters I bought off Amazon. Don't see much to filter , looks like steel mesh.
I'm a fan of k&n filters so I was holding out for a deal.
The ape filters look like the same as alpha moto. Mabe the same or better quality?
Good to know that the gaskets are the same anyway. I'll order a set and hopefully not need them.

I have never used the APE pods but know a few people who do with no complaints..
APE are a well know performance shop and there's been a few threads on them with favourable comments and have never heard any negative comments about them.
All the parts I have had from APE have been top quality race components.
Bad news travels faster than good and if they were inferior i'm pretty sure I would have heard.
