Greetings.

1. I have problem with identifying my carbs. I don`t know if it`s later or early model also I want to know if it`s US model or not.
I disassembled carbs (thanks for the advice with hair dryer, I was thinking about it as an option but it`s a must :) ).
2. Should I change idle screw ? This solution seems weak to me :X
3. I want to use pods, after searching the forum I found some info about changing position of jet needle clip, is it fine or I should rejet carbs ?
4. If washers seems fine (elastic and smooth) do I need to change it ?
5. How can I check if valve float is working fine ? (found it in manual, I'll check tip ends from wear and if it moves frelly)
6. I found some post`s about service manual, should I use this one ? (Thanks to LouDhvx I found it, that's correct)
www.kzrider.com/modules/ServiceManuals/Kz400500550_79to83.pdf

Thanks in advance

Do you have a photo of the bike? The 1984 Gpz model started manufacture in 1983. So maybe you have an 84 model but it was built in 1983. The 84 model came with Tk27 carbs.

The 82/83 Kz550H (Gpz) clutch cable goes to the sprocket cover.
The 84/85 Zx550A (Gpz) clutch cable goes to the clutch cover.

The 82/83 Kz550H Tk26 carbs had the idle screw in the middle of the carb rack.
Your photo shows a remote idle knob.

4A10 jet needle came on the Tk27.

Can you read the number on the pilot jet?
Tk26 uses #32.
Tk27 uses #34.

Can you read the numbers on the main jet?
82/83 Gpz Tk26 uses #86.
84/85 Gpz Tk27 uses #114.

Do you have a photo of the broken jet holder (aka main emulsifier tube) ?

Here are the photos, I don`t see any numbers on pilot jet but on the main there is "14". The needle is 4A10 I`m sure.
Bike has been repainted or stickers were stripped :/ and my blinkers and tail light isn`t orginal I think

Ok, so that bike is a Kz550H (Gpz). If it's an 83, then it's a Kz550H2. (82 is the Kz550H1).

The carbs appear to be Tk27 carbs. They came on 84 and 85 Zx550A1 and A2 in the U.S.

My signature has links to several manuals. You will need the supplement that covers 84/85 for the carbs.
The rest of the bike will be covered in the earlier supplement.

He is talking about the actual jets.
Your jet holders would have to be an ebay item, probably, and I think you may have to use Zx550A Tk27 parts.
I doubt the CV30 and other carbs found on the ZR550B bikes and later will have the same jet holder, but maybe they would.
I'm pretty sure the earlier TK carbs like the Tk26 use different jet holders.
The TK22 carbs definitely use different jet holders.

Fortunately, I was able to remove the broken jet without damaging holder screw. I'm waiting for Keihin jets to test-fit them. Soon I'll post project thread about my GPz and provide some photos and more info.

Ok, I see now. I thought you needed a new jet holder because the jet holder was broken, but it was because the jet was broken in it.

Very nice job getting that out. The jet holder would have been difficult to get by itself.
