Tonight I’ve got to put my needle clip back @ 4, so I’ll take a pic of the intake ports on the carb

About 8 various model KZ650s..

Yes, for the bench synch,the height is not really important as long as it is small and the same on each carb. Be sure that the idle adjuster is near the middle of its range so you can easily adjust either way when they are reinstalled.. Before the vacuum synch and final fuel mixture adjustments, make sur e fuel heights are correct, using e clear tube method outlined in the factory service manual. . The vacuum synch tool will allow you to balance them all to the same vacuum reading.

set the needle clips to 4, and took a pic of the carbs:
this indicate a vm22?

About 8 various model KZ650s..

Those are vm24ss. Do the bench sync and fuel height as previously suggested whilst the are off the bike. Its much easier access.
