Mikuni BS34 issues and pilot plugs?
19 Jul 2019 04:58
Hi guys,
I have a 1982 Kawasaki GT750P (shaft) and I’ve recently had some issues with my carbs.
Firstly on inspection I’ve found a crack in the body. It’s up where the pilot plug sits so I’m not worried at this stage.... please see photo and I hope you agree.
Second, The 4th carb didn’t even have a pilot plug when I opened it.
Finally, I can’t for the life of me find replacement plugs! I guess I could make some out of ABS but does anyone have a better solution?
Cheers!
Macca.

Kawasaki used a hard polyester pilot plug w/O-ring on at least some BS34 applications. Pretty sure you can replace those hard caps with some more common rubber plugs that can be purchased on ebay and such.

Thanks for your replies!
I’ll jump online and have a good look here and post the plugs I find so someone with the same issue has a solution.
