Just wondering what jets those of you with pods and a header are running in your KZ900s and what needle position. I'm trying to get this thing dialed in and would like a starting point. Currently I have 120 mains and 20 pilots and it's fouling brand new plugs in about a half hour riding. Was suggested I go one up from stock on mains... which would be 117.5 and one up also on the pilots which I believe would be the 20s I have in there. Would like to stay rich enough so I don't have popping on decel. Also.... not sure the over jetting is the problem but need to start somewhere. I'd think the bike should at least be rideable with the jets it's got in it. Thanks to anyone for their input.

120's are too big and the pilots shouldn't need touching.
117.5 mains and some air corrector jets should get you where you need to be.
Make sure the pods you have are not cheap crap ( Emgos etc ) as they are actually more restrictive than the stock airbox and will cause massive over richness.
Good pods should pretty much flow the same as open carbs so try a few runs without them to see if that cures the plug fouling .

If not already done, would perform clear tube tests and assure fuel levels are correct.
A too high fuel level can result in excessive richness for otherwise perfect carbs.

Good Fortune! :)

Thanks guys. I'll order the 117s today. Good advice.. I in fact do have the cheap pods. Will pull them next time it starts acting up and see if that helps. Also the float levels are all over the place. I'll get those set too. Is there a way to bench set them to get them in the ball park?
