Issues having my 77 kz650 starting
22 May 2019 08:47
Hey guys, i picked up a 77 kz650 and i'm trying to get it started and having some issues. I'm not sure if the bike is a legit 77 because it has parts that they put on the next year model. im not sure if the vaccume petcock is working or not and was wondering if it was essential for the bike to run

77s didnt have vacuum carbs and vacuum tap. If the tap is set to prime then the fuel will flow. If its set to on or reserve it needs vacuum to flow.

What makes you believe the bike is a 1977 model? Find the VIN on the steering stem neck and that can be used to see what year/model the bike is. Ed

it is actually a 78, i believe it still has the break in the front which made us think it was 77
