4into1 pod filters vs DNA
14 Dec 2018 22:41
So I’m thinking it best to buy some nicer pod filters. I can’t decide between 4into1 or DNA filters. Honestly, to me from photos they look similar in design. But I wasn’t sure if they were nice or not. Does anyone have any experience with either? Thanks!

Not used either of those but it's best to go with well known brands such as K&N, S&B ,Uni filter or Piper as these are known to work well and flow more than the stock air box.
Beware of cheap or unknown brands such as EMGO etc as these usually flow less than stock and actually cause a performance loss.

And you probably have to throw away the cheapies, instead of cleaning them.

Ape Performance has some vg filters for 60 bucks (mine have held up very well over the years) but only come in 34 to 40mm sizes. 42s for the smaller round design.

Like the others, I have no experience with those brands. In fact, I had not heard of them until reading this thread.
I have used both K$N and APE, and have been quite pleased with both.

The 4into1 performance air filters honestly look pretty nice. They look very similar to DNA and K&N in design. I was just curious if y’all had any experience. From the research I’ve done, DNA filters are VERY similar in design to K&N but slightly less expensive. I may just go with the DNA filters seeing as they are less expensive. But on the other hand the 4into1 performance air filters are not super expensive and I really like the chrome top. So from most expensive to least it’s -$200+ K&N ——$145+DNA——$70+ 4into1 performance air filters.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I ran UNI's and K & N's for years and they were nothing but a messy pain in the ass the whole time and cost a fortune for the filters, cleaners and spray goop. I've been using the Emgo's for about 12 years now and they are really simple. No mess. No maintenance. Super affordable and need no chemicals.
The UNI's dried up and started to crumble foam into the engine, and the K&N's started to show wear after a few cleanings.

I may run with the APE filters. They look quality made and aren’t breaking my bank. They 50mm Id opening and my carbs are CV34 with a 54mm intake if I’m correct. Hopefully they’ll stretch.
Honestly, it’s seem that s lot of people on this thread have mixed feelings on pods. But so far that I can tell 2 people mentioned the APE pods

Bit late but i thought i would add to this as i have installed a set of 51mm oval DNA filters.to my cv32's
I like the fact that they design and make their filters in house like K&N .
Having used K&N in the past the quality of DNA seems on par with K&N .Time will tell i guess but seeing as making filters is all they do i cant see there being any problems
The only thing i didn't like was the hose clamps, they are heavy duty and bit large so didn't really work with the small clamping area on the 32's. Replacing them with some common stainless clamps sorted that though,. Being as this is a universal kit it wasn't a big deal
MERRY CHRISTMAS
