Carb upgrade 82 kz440

Looking for advice on a carburetor upgrade on a 82 kz440. Leaning towards Mikuni vm3? Not sure what size would be best. Single vs. Twin? Jet specs? Thanks!

Has the bike been modified in any way that will affect carburation? Stock air box in place? Exhaust system? Cams?
