kz440 Jet Question

#787332
First let me say I am new to motorcycles. I was comfortable taking the carb apart and cleaning it but need some help on jetting. The bike came with pods and 2-1 exhaust. I am putting the air-box on and the original 2-2 exhaust. I checked the jets and the primary says 78 on it and the the secondary say M108. I looked at the Kawasaki parts diagram and it says the primary was originally 65 and the secondary was 88. Are these the jets I need? Do I need to replace anything else to bring the carb back to original to work withe the air-box/ exhaust? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will do that. Thanks.
So just change those to what the  parts diagram says all should be back to stock on the carbs?

Typically, that is all that gets changed. Other than that, it will be a matter of fine tuning as per the manual.

So I have the primary, secondary and needle jets now. I found one more though. Pilot jet. Will this need to be replaced as well. I can’t see any numbers on it with my glasses on and a lighted magnifying glass so I don’t know what it is.
One other question; is the needle for the needle jet suppose to be loose or tight in the vacuum cyclinder? They are loose right now and have some wobble.

I would replace the pilot jet to eliminate that unknown.
Your jet needle being loose it normal.

I figured I should replace it. Guess I don't get it running this weekend.
Thanks for the confirmation.
