odd issue

weird issue bike runs and idles great when i start it cold. then after about 15 minutes i cannot get it to idle. i have new ape valve springs. they are all perfectly shimmed in spec at a temp of 80 degrees. that is the only thing i have changed on the bike other than stepping up the pilots. the reason i went a size up on the pilots is because after flicking the throttle the bike would die i had the air fuel screws maxed out. i went from a 17.5 then 20 to a 22.5 now i am going up to a 25 or a 30. i am not sure how to get passed this issue. any advice would be appreciated also i guess i messed with the timing a bit i am going to go back to where i was stoooock

i have pods 4 into 1 pistons and the cam springs.

I would say check the cam timing first.

What bike? What year? Which carb assy? How the heck do you shim valve springs and what difference the temp? Stepping up from #17.5 (guessing Mikuni carbs of some sort based on pilot jet size) to #25-30 won't help your issue at all and will only see fouled plugs. VERY fouled plugs.

Maxed OUT will be lean, maxed IN would be rich. Assuming mikuni air screw carbs. Sure you went the right way?

I'm starting to think I am way too rich on the pilots. The higher i go the worse it has gotten. What size pilots do you guys run with a set of pods and a pipe? It is a 1977 A model kz1000 Vance an Hines uni pod filters with a 1075 kit 26mil carbs (stockers)
