Fine tuning

I would like to hear some of your guys process for fine tuning carborators. I have a set of carbs off my 81 kz750e with a stage 3 dyno jet kit. They seem to be pretty dialed and have been riding the bike for a while. I would just like know your process with syncing, setting air/fuel ect. For getting the best response. My carbs are set to duno jets recommendations for stage three with k&n pods and V&H 4 to 1 headers.

Yes, vacuum sync. Follow process in factory service manual.
Pilot screws can be set at 2.5 turns from lightly seated and then tweaked 1/2 turn or so from there until you achieve the highest idle. If the idle speed doesn't vary, leave them at 2.5 turns and/or make sure all screws are within 1/2 turn of each other in the end.

Thanks Ed, if I’m not mistaken. DynoJet recommendation for their stage three jet setup up with pods and exhaust is 4 turns from seated. Does that seem a bit excessive?
