Hey everyone....
I know there's a wealth of knowledge out there on carbs but I just cant seem to identify this jet! The one in the pic to the right of the main-what is it?? Is the pilot jet supposed to be installed in that port below the jet seen in the pic? Any help appreciated. Second pic, it's the smaller jet on the left. I know the other is the main. (Side note: I'm helping a friend with some advice REMOTELY, I used to have a KZ1000 and I'm doing all this via pics and phone calls. I'm sure if I had my hands on it I could better figure it out.)

I’m confused. I thought the float needle goes into the port at the bottom of the carb body.

Thank you for the diagrams. The best I’ve seen. Based on the pics I posted and anyone’s expertise, it LOOKS like an extra jet was installed in the port where the pilot jet is installed? Because in the diagrams and everything else I’ve seen the pilot jet sets deep into that port and nothing should sit flush at the top, as seen in my pics. I hope this makes sense and someone can shed some light...

The pilot jet should look like this
Your so called "pilot jet" looks more like the starter jet and is located in the carb bowl
Edit: Took a second view to your "pilot jet".
Is it possible you broke the pilot jet (threat part) apart from brass shaft with the holes,(could be stuck in the carb body
Just a thought.
