PILOT SCREW PLUG was created by aquaholic
Hello again,
In the FSM for my 1981 KZ1000J it states that there is a "PILOT SCREW CAP Item # 19 with O-ring item #20" above the pilot screw. Is there another way to seal this area off as I cannot find anyone (Not even Z1 Enterprises) that has these plugs and O-rings. Since they seem to be so hard to find, I am hoping there is another solution to sealing this area. Once again, any ideas are appreciated. be well, jon

Those are a U.S. item only, and most folks threw them away after their first carb adjustment. There should not be a problem running wthout them, but if you feel compelled, you shoul be able to find some soft neoprene round stock that you could slice into plugs.
Evidently, the plugs are 6.9 x 2 mm. Partzilla lists them and the oring, but that is no guarantee that they are really in stock. Have you tried a dealership? I bet they were used as late as 2005 on the police bikes.

Agree that the plug is not necessary. I'd pack some grease into the space above the pilot screw though to ward off water collection and corrosion thereafter.

I use a hot glue gun for this. It is fast, effective, and even looks good. Also comes right out with a pick.
Hope this helps,
