Carb Compatibility

Hello all, I'm new here and even more so to motorcycles. I'm currently trying to get my 1980 KZ650 LTD on the road and my current carbs on not usable. I found some that are off of a 1981 KZ650 CSR and was wondering if I can use them. As well as how compatible parts are on KZ models.

Both models came stock with VM24 carburetors.
If they look the same as yours & are VM24s, then you should be able to use them.
With the stock Ltd airbox & exhaust system, the csr jetting is probably fine.

As for parts compatibility, use the diagrams at Partzilla to compare any donor parts.
Your bike probably shares some components with the 1980 & earlier 650s.
Other than the carburetors the 81-83 650-CSRs are quite a bit different from the earlier 650 models.
csml.com is another site with diagrams, but partzilla is probably the easiest to use.
