Mikuni BS CV Choke Plunger Boots
01 Jan 2018 14:48
I'm finishing up a set of BS 34 Mikuni's and the choke plunger boots fell apart. Partzilla and Z1 want something like $14 each which is a ripoff in my opinion. Searching the archives suggests that at least some guys say the boots don't need to seal air tight. If this is the case I've got some Suzuki GS version choke plunger boots that are better than the ones I've got.
Any opinions on this?

That is a dust seal rather than a fuel/air seal so I say use what you have. I've put a few GS carbs in service with cracked boots and never had a problem.
Don't fix it until it's broken.
