Carb leaking gas

Hi, first time posting here. I came across an 82 kz440 it needed some work. Mainly the carburetor. The bike had been sitting out for a couple years. I successfully clean ed the carburetors and put it back together... It started! the bike bike ran great but as you can see in the picture there is a small knob where gas pours out when it's running or set to prime. I don't know if this is an overflow or what. I'm hoping and fairly sure it's a simple fix. any help would be appreciated I've looked through the forms trying to find information on it to no avail. Thanks again.
I can take it apart but can I put it back together

AFAIK, this is only a brass plug to close a vacuum port (Diaphragm???) and not an overflow drain plug.
There should be no fuel leaking out. Degrease the area and put some drops of Lock-tide or screw secure paint on.

Check your float bowl high

BTW ...and welcome to the KZR asylum Cbguy

Some one done the loctite bodge on one of mine and it still pissed out they had also drilled the ball out, so when i rebuilt my carbs i carefully threaded the hole and plugged it with a stainless countersunk screw and a twist of PTFE tape, the carbs are fine aside from the screw being visible, in your position i would make a punch up on my lathe that would allow me to punch the material around the ball first in the hope that it would repair the seal.
