Can someone explain why my 1982 KZ650 with 4 into 1 and filter pods needs a .135 main jet to run properly and my 1980 KZ1000 needs .117.5. Both bikes have same intake and exhaust system .

Do they use the same carbs?
Pics of your carbs and exhaust outlet would help.

Cause someting is wrong. My 650 with a Bunch of mods run a 110 main jet. A 135 main jet is WAY to rich, I'm surprised it will even run.

Unable to post pics at the moment, but both bikes have Mikuni cv carbs, 650 has 24mm and 1000 has 34mm. I believe both sets of carbs are factory original equipment. Both bikes have Mac 4 into 1 exhausts.
