Help! What am I doing wrong? Idle issues!

OK so got everything I needed to rebuild carbs, put a 2- 1 exhaust on, bench synched the carbs (i think), and tried to vacuum sync them. All it does now is Rev up so high like 7-8k rpms, I've checked for air leaks over and over. Nothing. Could I have bench synced wrong? I did the timing and valves (thought I did it right?) Gapped the spark plugs properly, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. 1979 kz400 Ltd stock carbs. I spent a decent amount of money between new jets, shims, carb sync tool, carb rebuild kit, just don't want it all to go to waste to bring it to someone. I checked throttle cable tension. Everything I can think of. Any help or ideas would be greatful

Are you sure the carb butterflies are really closed!
Have you maybe forgot some plugs?
Have you a service manual ?

When I have "bench synched" carbs like that, it is real easy to leave the engine idle setting way to high. Just turn it down and try again.

Yes butterfly's are closing. And I do have a service manual. 3 of em. And I tired to turn the idle screw down but it sputters and dies or shoots too high no in between. From what ive tried atleast
