If they are both Ltds, then it will probably work. According to the cross-reference at Partzilla all of the 440 Ltd models had a 2-2 muffler system & they share most parts. The diagrams at Kawasaki.com indicate that the 80-81 LH & RH mufflers are the same. The 82-83 have different LH & RH muffler part numbers, but they might be interchangeable with the earlier Ltds. guessing.
The 440B standard had a 2-1 exhaust. you might still be able to use a 440B, but you'd probably have to fab a muffler bracket.
