Maybe this has been covered before but I can't seem to find it. I have am 81 kz750 chain drive and someone along the line put a different fuel tank on it. Doesn't quite fit right but works. I need a new petcock for it but those listed for my model have 34mm mount holes. This tank has 44mm center to center mount holes. Anyone have a hint where I can get a 44mm petcock? Make model? Pretty sure some GS petcocks had 44mm mounts but I'd rather order one for a KZ if I can. Even the universal petcocks would be useful but I can't seem to find one with 44mm bolt holes.

Don't fix it until it's broken.

Maybe the 82 or 83 KZ650-CSR or the 1000P police models (82-2005). They use the same petcock & have a large filter screen similar to the 70s 44mm petcocks. The 81 650 is 34mm & has a smaller filter screen. I'm thinking the bung hole for the bigger screen will have to be wider, so the bolt hole spacing would be wider as well. not sure though, but you could ask a seller on eb. If you find out either way, please report back. Thanks.

Kawasaki P-model police petcock = 51023-1375.

Note comments, in the above listing which include:
Petcock (vacuum) 44mm (approx. 1 3/4") bolt spacing center-to-center.
This petcock is an ideal solution for the Kawasakis with the vacuum operated petcocks.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationmartin Thank you!,
I found a petcock on ebay and asked the seller if he can confirm 44mm bolt spacing. So far he has not responded.

Patton, that you sir! That looks like that petcock may have the best chance of working for me. I know that if it doesn't I can always return it to Z1. They are very reputable and reliable.

I just heard back from the eBay seller and it will NOT work, That url I posted is 34mm center to center.

Looks like my best bet is Z1.

Here's another petcock listed at Z1E that says it has 44mm bolt spacing:

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationthank you Patton. with that info I searched eBay and found the GS1000 petcock for sale by Georgefix. In case you don't know he is a well respected seller on the Suzuki GS Resources forum so I felt comfortable buying from him:

If it fits and works I'll report back. Well even if it doesn't fit and work I'll report back..

That's an aftermarket petcock. who knows if he has the correct Kawasaki part number listed. The screen looks like the 81 650.
I would get the measurement from a genuine Kawasaki oem part.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHere is the final word. I installed the new GS petcock. I had to lengthen the fuel hose to the carbs. So I installed a larger fuel filter and a 3 inch piece of fuel line. The output on the GS petcock faces to the rear. It actually fit perfect. Rode the bike yesterday and today a few times and the petcock works perfectly.

If you need a 44mm center to center petcock, I can highly recommend this one from Georgefix.
