Welcome Zh. That is a nice looking LTD.
If you search this site for discussions of pod filters, you will find so many discussions that reading them will make your eyes bleed. Getting those carbs to work well with individual filters is not easy or cheap. If riding the bike is your goal, fix the overflow problem and get on with life. If you just have to have the pods, be careful as you remove the air box an related parts. They are worth more than you might think.
The leak you mention is most often caused by a failed fuel valve (petcock) AND one or more failed carb float valves. There are also MANY discussion threads on these problems.
Buy quality parts. Cheap ones will only cause more problems. When you rebuild the fuel valve, be sure to carefully polish the face of le lever that presses against the smiley-faced oring, and also polish the seat where the small oring on the valve rests. Also replace the vacuum hose.
If you are converting to pods, a Dynojet Stage III, kit should get the jetting in the neighborhood. The general consensus is that K&N, APE, and Uni make the best filters. Stay away from the others.
If you stay with the stock setup, all you wiill likely need are new gaskets and orings. The float valves may only need a good cleaning. You should be able to get what you need from Z1Enterprise, Jets R Us, Partzilla, or maybe even your local Kawasaki dealer.

It if find the magic formula for rejetting those carbs so they work as well with pods as they do with the air box be sure to post everything here. That question has been asked a thousand times but so far there hasn't been a definitive answer. Ed
