SeaFoam in a tank that's been coated inside

Yes or No ???
Coating unknown, was in tank when son purchased, There are area where the coating is missing and you can see the tank steel
However in 4 years have never found any residue in either the petcock screen or the fuel filter I put on it when I first saw the tank.
So I believe it's adhering well, but the bare spots are of some concern
Any experiences with coating being dissolved by the SeaFoam?? Or is it nothing to worry about
Any advice appreciated

I've used seafoam quite a bit and do not think it is ever affected any Linings in my tank. That being said I am against tank liners if you can get rust particles and old coating off inside of tank simply keep that tank full at all times. I had had a failing cream coat but it did not look like it from looking down into the tank it was the top of the tank where you could not see it was hanging down like the liner of an old car rust particles we're constantly clogged in my carbs that took a while to figure out. I did not believe seafoam caused the liner to fail I believe that to be with preparation

I agree also, Sea foam is 100% pure petroloum and I don't think it would affect a lined tank.

Last year I spoke on the phone with the techs at Seafoam and they will answer any questions you have.

? Seafoam is 40% - 60% Pale Oil; 25% - 35% Naphtha; 10% - 20% IPA (that's Isopropyl alcohol not India Pale Ale). Ed

Sure ok, I called them and the tech said it's 100% pure petrolium. ...whatever that means.

Naphtha would give me cause to ponder
I'm not fond of coatings inside a tank, but it was in there when my son bought the bike, I don't think it wise to try and remove it. Especially not knowing the condition of the tank that led a previous owner to do it.
may just call Seafoam
Thanks for the input
