Kz750 carbs was created by Kz750BB
Hello kz riders, I'm new to the forum and looking for advice on new carbs. I recently picked up an 83 kz750ltd that was running but not perfect after pulling the carbs for cleaning I found the mixture
Screw on carb 4 has been drilled into destroying it and the carb body. My guess is it was stuck and the PO tried to drill it out. The carbs are Keihin cv34, I've looked around locally and online to find a nice set to replace them but I've found nothing worth purchasing they have all been to ruff for the money. Which brings me to the question what bikes came with the mikuni bs34 carbs that would fit on my bike. I know they came on the kz1000 and even the gs1100 but not sure what years. I know these carbs will need to be jetted for my bike which is not a problem I just need to know they will bolt on and run well once properly tunned.

Did you see the bs34s in the for sale section....... look nice but can't vouch for em fitting or condition...... wonder if a set of 28s off a 1000 would fit but not sure on manifolds needed (1000 holders with a slotted hole ??)...... working on 29s right now and those take a slotted hole 1000 holder for the 650. Sure others will chime in with more help. Shame you couldn't find a #4 body on Ebay but that could take forever or then again you could get lucky.

Stick with the Keihin's they are designed for your bike. The only carbs I'd consider for replacements are the BS34's from a GPz750 or maybe the later year ZX-7 bike carbs, which were Keihin's too, but a different type. You could use some other carbs but plan on extensively rejetting if you go down that path.

What carb body do you need anyway? I've got a couple of spares and could rebuild your set for you (assuming I've got the right body).

Edit: just checked ebay and there are lots of carb bodies. $34 shipped.

Here is a photo of a set I did...

Nessism that set of carbs you built look very good. Part of the reason for looking at the BS34 is I intend on putting a big bore in this bike this winter. As I understand it there are no available primary jets for these Keihin carbs other than the stock size 35. I don't mind having to tune the carbs for the bike I even have wideband O2 sensors for fine tuning if need be. But i would still like to know what you would charge to clean up the carbs i have if you want to PM me. Carb 4 is the one with the damage the rest of the carbs seem to be in good shape and the bike was running decent.

Awesome, thank you very much for that link. From my previous searching I was told many time that nothing but stock was available.

Kawasaki made both a chain drive and a shaft drive LTD in 1983, and the carbs are different between them. The chain drive carbs from '80-'83 are basically the same, and are the type with two stage main jets. The shaft drive bikes in '83 have only one main jet though. Be careful when looking for carb bodies to find the right type depending on what kind of bike you have.

Nessism is correct. In 1983 Kawasaki made a KZ750 LTD chain drive (KZ750-H4), an LTD shaft drive (KZ750-F1), and also an LTD belt drive twin (KZ750-K1). Because there are many big differences between the models it will help folks help you if you simply add your bike's year and specific model to your signature line. Ed

It's an 83 750 f1, the carbs on it have a single main jet. I'm looking at a few different opinions right now. Bs34 from a kz1000, not sure what year or model and a set of Keihins from a 81 or 82 kz750 h with 2 mains. The keihin set will need some work but that's probably what I'm going to get unless there is a better option that im just not seeing.

An insert can be installed to fix your existing carb if you know a good machinist.
