alrighty-first time posting here-be gentle. i claimed this '84 KZ as abandoned property last year and was excited to finally get all of her papers and now she is legally mine. However after some minor maintenance (spark plugs, oil filter and new battery) i finally got her running. Although the idle needs to be adjusted, I took it her for a belt around town. There was some intermediate power surges which I contributed to dirty carbs and possibly old fuel. The bigger problem is, she pukes oily fuel after I shut her off. After some research I took the carbs off-cleaned them, replaced the petcock and fuel filter. Its still pukes oily gas after shut off!!! I'm pretty sure its got to do with the vacuum-is it possible the petcock didnt seal? The gas cap also seems a little loosey goosey; could it be causing vaccum after the bikes shut down? will post pic soon

Are you using a manual?
Perform all regular maintenance on the engine like valve lash, ignition and clean the carbs.

pukes out of what, the carbs or exhaust?

84 kz what?

Does that year have points?

Get some DeOxit- 5 and clean "all" of your connections.

You will get more responses if use a subject title that has something to do with the problem instead of swearing at us.

Welcome :)

If you did not carefully polish the internal parts of the petcock, it may still leak. If the new rubber bits were not genuine Kawasaki, they may leak. If the float valves in each carburetor are not properly sealing, or of the fuel level in the carbs is set way too high, you will have overflow. The only way I can imagine oil being in the fuel is if there is oil in the fuel tank, or the fuel is running out of oiled filters, like K&N, and washing the oil away. If the fuel is filling up the crankcase and overflowing a fuel/oil mixture, you have a dangerous situation that needs to be corrected before you start the engine again.

Agree with the comment questioning where the "oily fuel" is puking from.

If the petcock is leaking it's highly likely that you have gasoline inside the crankcase. Check the oil level and if it's over the full mark an oil change is in order straight away.
