since the carbs go further into the intakes than into the air box boots, I always seat the carbs into the intakes first. Once they are in it's easier to get the air box boots on. Then I tighten the intake clamps, re position the air box and tighten those clamps. Once the boots are on and the carbs fully seated put the bolts back into the air box to hold everything in position.

Also helps that I use a liberal amount of petroleum jelly on the rubber intake parts to let the carbs slide in easier. Only put the jelly on the air box boots as a last resort. Usually have a problem getting them all on and in place without sliding back off before I get the clamps in place.

Don't fix it until it's broken.

the ltd has chrome fenders..thats about the only difference

i found it was easier pushing em thru the airbox holes then by installing them push and wrk em thru the inside of the air box

Yup, that is the easiest way I found too. I just disconnect them from the carb and push them half way into the air box - remove carbs from manifold and then install in reverse order. Trying to install those completely from the outside was near impossible
