1994 KZP Vacuum Hose Routing was created by Deofel
Hey there
I just replaced the air box outlets and carburetor mounts on a 94 KZP. It runs a lot smoother now but the way the vacuum hoses on the carbs are routed doesn't match anything in the manual. At the moment #1 is connected to vacuum, #2 is capped, and #3 and #4 are connected together.
Can anyone confirm how the vacuum hoses on the crabs should be routed for a 1994 KZ1000-P13?

Is the Kawasaki clean air system connected? Does your bike have a vacuum petcock?
Typically (and the airbox & carburetor diagrams at Partzilla seem to confirm), the Kawasaki clean air system is connected to the #1 & #4 carb vacuum ports, the petcock vacuum line is connected to the #2 vac port & the #3 carb vac port is capped. If the clean air stuff is disconnected & you have a vacuum petcock, you can cap #3 & #4. and I would cap #1 & use #2 for the petcock. unless the hose routing is better at #1.

Hey there Martin, I'm not sure what a "clean air system" is but since #3 and #4 are connected together, #2 is capped, and the petcock is connected to #1 I'm thinking I can stop worrying about whether the vacuum lines are routed properly.

So based on what you and Martin have told me it is obvious that the clean air system has been bypassed. I looked at the attachments you sent and re-read Martins post. All the components for the clean air system are on the bike but the vacuum hose routing is bypassing the clean air system.
Another item added to the to do list.
Thanks
